A: Actually, I didn't.  While praticin' for "The Men's Chorus" (a church singin' group I was in), one of the guys got my attention by sayin', "Hey Dalevis...".  The name stuck, so I kept it when I began workin' as an Elvis Tribute Artist.

 

Q: How do you correctly pronounce your stagename?

A: It's pronounced "Dale-vis".  Many folks try to pronounce it "Dale-elvis" until they know the true pronunciation.

 

Q: Are your hair and sideburns real?

A: Yes... they're real.  My natural hair color is dark brown.  I color my hair in keepin' with the Elvis "persona"... jus' like Elvis colored his sandy blond hair.  In the movie, "Kissin' Cousins", Elvis played two different characters, and one of 'em had his natural hair color.

 

Q: How tall are you?

A: I'm 6'6" tall

 

Q: What color are your eyes?  (this is asked 'cause I wear glasses alot while performin')

A: My eyes are blue...

 

Q: Do you lipsync?

A: No... what you hear is what you get.  There are times when some in the audience seem to be "unimpressed" with my show 'cause they think I'm lipsyncin'... THEN I sing a tune accapella and their mouths drop open.  These folks become my biggest fans.

 

Q: Who taught you to sing like Elvis?

A: Well... no one actually "taught" me to sing.  While very young I absorbed music & vocal nuances, Elvis bein' a major influence.  So, jus' as God gave babies the ability to learn to speak without being taught, I learned to sing in the same way... it jus' happened.

 

Q: How old are you?

A: I'm 39 years young... an holdin'.

 

Q: Are you married?

A: No, but I an engaged to a lovely lady named Marsi Mora (see the "About Me" page for more details).

 

Q: Have you ever been to Graceland?

A: No, I haven't as yet.  But I'd like to the first chance I get.

 

Q: Did you learn your "actions" and "moves" from studying Elvis' movies and interviews?

A: No... I've seen many of Elvis' movies an' a couple of interviews but I've never actually "studied" them.  I jus' try to act as I feel naturally.  I've had folks that have actually seen Elvis in person tell me that I was very much like him.

 

Q: Do you have any siblings?

A: Yes... 6...  2 Brothers an' 4 Sisters.  The birth order is as follows: Louise (my "oldest" sister), Myself, John, Margie, Linda, Jonathan, an' Tammy... 7 kids total.
